We regret to inform you we will not be participating in
the events this weekend
at Paragon Speedway in honor of Dave Peeden. As of now, we are also electing to not participate
in any event at Paragon Speedway the rest of the season.
We work hard to improve our car every week to make it
faster. We are out in the garage every night, and Steve has worked hard to get
himself to where he is today. Steve puts most of his time and all of his own
money in his car in order to be competitive.
We were told before the feature event Saturday night, by a
pit official, that another driver was planning on putting our car into the
wall. Although there were some bumps and rubs, we are proud in saying that we
ran a good race and did not jeopardize our chance at winning the event before
the incident.
As for our thoughts on the whole incident...the past is the
past and we intend on leaving it there. We apologize to our supporters for
reacting the way we did after the wreck. It was out of character for Steve and
we intend on that being the first & last time you will see such a reaction
out of the P3 team. We are proud to know that we have such dedicated &
mature fans who have enough respect for the sport to not threaten or attack others
involved in the incident, especially in the grandstands. Your support means the
world to us, and we are proud to say that.
We are working on putting the car back together to continue
to compete at Bloomington Speedway. Although rumors have been flying regarding the
belief of the P3 team cheating, we have been more than willing to discuss any
issues with track officials. Friday night at Bloomington, a track official
approached Steve regarding the trailing arms being level. The issue was corrected
by bumping it down half an inch, which helped Steve push from 17th
to a strong 3rd place finish in the feature. No other issues have
come up through tech inspections.
The team is looking forward
to continuing to compete for UMP points and is focused on having a successful
2010 season. Special thanks to our sponsors for believing in the team and our
fans for coming out to support us.
Thoughts & Prayers go out to the family & friends of Jesse 'The Rocket' Hockett. Steve met Jesse a couple months ago at North Vernon when the two parked beside each other. Jesse won the sprint car feature that night, followed by Steve's first win of 2010. With a congratulations, Jesse told us we could park next
to him anytime if it meant us both winning. We have been fans of his ever since. The racing community has lost a great driver & he will be missed.

Peeden opens 2010 season at Brownstown Speedway Brownstown Speedway - March 20, 2010 SPR traveled to Brownstown Speedway on March 20 for the first race of the season. After drawing a 94, Steve started on the tail of the first heat race and worked his way to finish 4th. Steve started 13th in the feature, he worked his way up to the 7th or 8th position before the steering box broke, forcing Steve to retire the car for the night.
