Steve Peeden started off the 2009 season at Paragon Speedway with bang, battling the #11 Chris Hillman for the heat race win. Peeden started on the pole, with Hillman right beside him. The two took off from the pack, battling for the lead at each and every turn. As luck would have it, Peeden came out of turn four with just enough to pass Hillman for heat race win.

Peeden started 6th in the feature. With the dusty track conditions and several cautions, Peeden was able to 4th in the “train race” of a feature.
